Aaron Rodgers enters the 2026 season facing plenty of questions regarding his future in the league. But while the veteran isn't the same player he was during his MVP years, at least one former NFL player isn't ready to count him out yet.
Two-time Super Bowl champion Logan Ryan recently joined CBS Sports HQ to discuss Tampa Bay's schedule for the 2026 season. When asked about his thoughts on the Steelers, Ryan didn't seem to agree that quarterback Rodgers had lost his touch.
"I think that Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks that I ever played against. He's a wizard at the line of scrimmage. But I just won't cast him out," Ryan said on June 12. "I really got to see how it goes when he shows up to practice, and we start seeing what he looks like with some of the new pieces they have."

Ryan acknowledged that Rodgers hasn't looked quite like the player who dominated the league for years. But he still sees plenty of reasons to wait before making any final judgments.
According to Steelers Depot, Rodgers threw for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions last season. Now he'll have a chance to work again with head coach Mike McCarthy, who oversaw some of the best years of the QB's career in Green Bay.
The Steelers have also added more talent around the veteran starter this season, giving him a deeper group of pass catchers than he had earlier. But whether these moves will translate into a deep playoff run remains to be seen.
Is Legacy the Real Goal for Aaron Rodgers in 2026?
Aaron Rodgers has spent nearly two decades being judged by playoff runs, championship MVPs, and MVP-calibre performances. As the veteran QB prepares for what could be his final NFL season, his achievements will come under even greater scrutiny.
But Touchdown Wire's Josh Petry recently suggested an alternative standard for evaluating Rodger in 2026.
"What if a successful Hall of Fame-worthy career wasn't one of winning a Super Bowl or bust, but instead of being healthy for the whole schedule, winning meaningful games, being North of 40 years old, getting Pittsburgh back into the playoffs, and leaving on his own terms?" Petry wrote on June 12.
Rodgers enters the season at 42 years old and with a new opportunity in Pittsburgh.
Although comparisons to his MVP-winning season will always follow him, the focus has now shifted to what Rodgers can still bring to the Steelers, who are looking to return to the postseason.
Whether the journey ends with a championship or not, Rodgers' final NFL chapter remains one of the league's most closely watched stories heading into 2026.
