Tom Brady confesses to surprising truth about Aaron Rodgers

Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers had spent years being compared as two of the defining quarterbacks of their generation. While the debate over their legacies never truly concluded, Brady recently made it clear how highly he views Rodgers' ability as a passer.

"It’s hard to put into words how incredible he passes the ball," Brady said on the Stick To Football podcast on June 23. "The way it comes out of his hand, the way it spins and delivers with pace and accuracy. There’s only probably three people in the history of the NFL that could do it like him.”

The praise comes as Rodgers prepares for his second season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the 22nd year of an NFL career that has already produced a Super Bowl championship and multiple MVP awards.

According to Operation Sports, Brady had already been leading the New England Patriots when Rodgers entered the league in 2005.

Brady and Rodgers' paths remained connected for years. Be it MVP discussions, playoff races, or debates about quarterback greatness, the constant comparisons persisted.

“I think there’s no greater passer of the football than Aaron Rodgers,” Brady added. “There’s certain people, you see everyone do it, and then you see one person throw the ball that much better. Aaron Rodgers was incredible.”

Brady and Rodgers' paths may have diverged, but their love for football remains the same. Now working as a broadcaster with Fox Sports, Brady remains close to the game from a different perspective.

Rodgers, meanwhile, continues his career in Pittsburgh on a one-year deal reportedly worth up to $25 million.

Steelers may have their eye on Rodgers replacement

With Aaron Rodgers set to retire after the 2026 season, questions about Pittsburgh's long-term plans are beginning to surface.

Bleacher Report's Moe Moton recently suggested the Steelers could be the team to watch if San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones becomes available before the November 3 deadline.

"As a stable franchise typically in the postseason mix, the Steelers haven't had a top-10 draft pick since 2019. If that trend continues, Pittsburgh will miss out on top quarterback prospects in 2027," Moe Moton wrote on June 23.

According to Heavy, Jones remains behind Brock Purdy on the 49ers depth chart, and his future could depend on how San Francisco's QB room develops during training camp.

With the Steelers also developing 2026 third-round pick Drew Allar, signing Mac Jones is only a possibility. But as Rodgers approaches the final season of his career, speculation about the Steelers' next move under center is unlikely to slow down.
