Cincinnati Bengals $115 million star wide receiver Tee Higgins brought some serious fun to the baseball field for a special one-night appearance where he stepped in as a pinch runner, bringing home Lawrence's trademark move.
The Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver suited up for the famous Savannah Bananas baseball team during their game against the Indianapolis Clowns at Great American Ball Park. During the game, Higgins did a hilarious Dexter Lawrence dance celebration.
“#Bengals Pro Bowl WR Tee Higgins scored a run for the Savannah Bananas in Cincinnati, and celebrated with the 'Se** Dance' in honor of new teammate Dexter Lawrence,” the X post by reporter Jordan Schultz read.
Higgins entered the game as a pinch runner, which means he was brought in specifically to run the bases. The moment he stepped onto the field in a bright yellow Bananas jersey, the crowd went wild, chanting “Teeeeeee!” in excitement.
To celebrate, Higgins' dance was a way of paying a special tribute to his close friend and new Bengals teammate, Dexter Lawrence.
The two players have a long history together. They first became great friends in college, where they helped the 2018 Clemson University football team win a national championship. Now, they are reunited in the NFL with the Bengals.
Higgins gave the Cincinnati crowd a fantastic show, blending the worlds of NFL football and entertainment baseball perfectly. It was an unforgettable night for sports fans who got to see their favorite football star show off his speed and dance moves on a baseball diamond.
'But Higgins' excitement goes deeper than friendship, he sees Lawrence as a defensive anchor.'
Tee Higgins Believes That Dexter Lawrence Can Fix the Bengals Defensive Unit Troubles
The Cincinnati Bengals recently made a big move by trading their 10th overall draft pick to the New York Giants to get star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence. As per reports from Yahoo Sports.com, Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is thrilled about the trade.
“I played with Dexter at college, so he’s a good friend,” Higgins told reporters. “And once that announcement came out, man, I was just happy and really excited.”
Not only because of their friendship, but Higgins knows how much the team needs Lawrence's help.
Last year, their defense gave up a painful 380.9 total yards (ranked 31st in the NFL) and 28.9 points every single game. To make matters worse, Cincinnati couldn't trouble opposing quarterbacks at all. They finished near the bottom of the NFL with a mere 35 sacks.
That is exactly where Higgins believes Lawrence will be an absolute force. Last season, Lawrence recorded an elite 84.5 pass-rush grade from Pro Football Focus, which ranked 7th out of 134 interior linemen.
And now, Higgins and fans hope he can deliver the same level of performance this year as well.
