Ja'Marr Chase delivered one of the season's most spectacular catches in the Bengals' 20-6 win over the Texans on Sunday.

The wide receiver adjusted against Derek Stingley Jr. and kept his feet in bounds for a 32-yard touchdown. Afterward, Chase spoke with NFL on CBS reporter Melanie Collins.

Asked about his route, throw, and catch, Chase credited Bengals QB1 Joe Burrow for giving him the chance to go for it:

“It was just a go-ball. Joe [Burrow] just threw it up, gave me an opportunity. Man, [Derek] Stingley fighting to hold possession of where the ball was at, and I adjusted really well at the end.”

The touchdown opened the scoring after a quiet Week 1. Chase finished with 7 catches for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns against Houston.

Ja'Marr Chase also discussed his leadership mindset with the CBS reporter after the game.

Reflecting on the responsibility of being a captain, Chase said he wanted to set the tone for his teammates:

“As a captain and a leader, I just try to stay in the game and make sure I give my guys energy and focus that I wanna give my guys, and just provide as much as I can and get out down the field.”

That mentality also showed during his response to limited production in Week 1. Cincinnati coach Zac Taylor praised Chase for remaining positive and helping his teammates despite the quiet outing against the Buccaneers.
