The Cincinnati Bengals have plenty of young talent in defense, and one rookie has already caught the attention of star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

Speaking on the latest episode of his Chasing No. 1 podcast, Chase discussed the progress of Cincinnati’s defense before highlighting the rookie, Tacario “Bobo” Davis:

“Our back end guys are coming together too, man. I can't wait to see how they're gonna do with our young guy Bobo [Tacario Davis]. See how he plays out. He almost had a pick; he's damn near 6'4", like he's damn near the same height as Tee.”

The Bengals wide receiver then recalled seeing Davis make plays during practice. His athleticism clearly stood out to Chase, particularly when the rookie nearly rose above other players to make plays on the ball:

“I remember seeing him make plays in practice, and he was jumping, and his feet were in the air, like damn near over people's heads. I can't wait to see how he's gonna be when he gets better.”

That excitement reflects what Chase has seen from the rookie so far. Tacario “Bobo” Davis now has an opportunity to turn those flashes into consistent production.

Ja’Marr Chase also praised the Bengals’ defensive line for its impact on the young linebackers.

“The D-line has been stepping up, putting pressure, collapsing the pocket," Chase said.

Chase also said that pressure had helped the linebackers play faster and recognize more plays. He noted that several of those players remain rookies, making their early progress notable.
