The Cincinnati Bengals have plenty of offensive firepower, but former Super Bowl winner Julian Edelman sees another area that could shape their season.

Speaking on FOX Sports, the former New England Patriots wide receiver highlighted Cincinnati's offensive lineup of Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins. He then pointed to the team's defensive additions.

The Bengals added Jonathan Allen, Dexter Lawrence II, and Boye Mafe. Edelman referenced Cincinnati's struggles despite its offensive production last season.

He said the Bengals scored 38 points four times last year and went one in four in those games. However, Edelman erred on the numbers, as Cincinnati scored 38 points three times and went 1-2 in those games:

"[Bengals] have such firepower on offense. You can look at Joe Burrow, the offense - [Tee] Higgins, Ja'Marr Chase. They scored 38 points four [sic] times last year; they were one in four [sic] in those games. What did they do? They got [Jonathan] Allen on the defensive line; they bring in Sexy Dexter Lawrence on the defensive line."

With the defensive reinforcements to complement its offense, Edelman believes Cincinnati has what it takes to make the playoffs this season.

Boye Mafe brings championship experience to Bengals

Boye Mafe joined Cincinnati after four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. He also brings championship experience after helping Seattle win Super Bowl LX.

Edelman highlighted that experience when discussing Cincinnati's defensive additions this season:

"They bring in Mafe from the Super Bowl championship team to give them a little experience in there."

Mafe made an immediate impact against Tampa Bay in Week 1. He recorded a sack, forced a fumble, and recovered a fumble in Cincinnati's 33-27 win.
