After acquiring some key players in free agency, the Cincinnati Bengals have released their jersey numbers for the season. The team updated about it on Tuesday.
Bryan Cook will wear No. 6, sticking with the same number he had during his Super Bowl run with the Kansas City Chiefs. And he wore the same in his college days in Cincinnati.
Dexter Lawrence II, the newly acquired star from the Giants, will wear No. 97. That's the same number he had in Big Blue.
Boye Mafe will wear No. 53, while Jonathan Allen takes No. 93. Mafe wore that same number with the Seahawks and Allen had the same with the Commanders.
Other new faces have also been assigned numbers.
At quarterback, Josh Johnson will wear No. 11. Ja’Sir Taylor takes No. 26, Kyle Dugger goes with No. 29, and Dohnte Meyers will wear No. 81.
There were changes among returning players, too.
DJ Turner II switches to No. 0, becoming the first Bengal to wear it. McKinnley Jackson moves to No. 91, while Shemar Stewart takes No. 94 after giving up No. 97 to Lawrence.
Stewart wore No. 4 during his college days at Texas A&M. Jordan Jefferson is also switching, moving from No. 94 to No. 68.
These jersey updates give an early look at the Bengals’ 2026 roster. While, the team has also made some recent moves in the secondary.
What Bengals’ Secondary Deals Mean for 2026 Depth
The jersey numbers also reflect changes in the Bengals’ secondary for 2026. Dexter Lawrence II’s $28 million extension drew most of the attention, but the team also added Kyle Dugger and Ja’Sir Taylor on short-term deals.
Dugger signed a one-year, $1.4 million contract. A big drop from his earlier four-year, $58 million deal with the New England Patriots.
Earlier, he earned an average salary of $14.5 million with $32.5 million guaranteed. Whereas, under this deal, he will earn just $1.4 million in average salary with $75,000 in signing bonus and guaranteed money.
Meanwhile, Taylor signed a one-year, $1.2 million deal, more than double his rookie deal with $948,003 in average salary.
The 27-year-old has mostly played on special teams, with 137 defensive snaps in 2025, including 41 in the slot. His highest usage came in 2023, when he played 532 snaps, mostly inside.
Jalen Davis is the main option at nickel corner right now, so Ja’Sir Taylor has a clear chance to compete. These additions give the Bengals more options in the secondary.
