Aaron Rodgers’ new one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers gives him a slight bump from the about $15 million he earned last season. Moving into the 2026 season, the 42-year-old quarterback will earn a solid $22 million base salary, though there's one catch.
A massive incentive on top of this relies heavily on snapping Pittsburgh's historic postseason drought. To cash in another $2.5 million, Rodgers will have to lead the Steelers to the 2026 Super Bowl.
“Aaron Rodgers has $2.5M in incentives in his contract with the Steelers, per sources,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on X. “If he plays 75% of the regular season snaps, he can earn the following: $625K for a Wild Card win, $625K for a Divisional Round win, $625K for an AFC Championship win, $625K for a Super Bowl win.”
According to a report by Michael Gallagher on Newsweek.com, every playoff game matters a lot for Aaron Rodgers' wallet. Each step in the postseason is worth exactly $625,000.
Because these bonuses only build up as the team moves forward, missing the playoffs will cost him heavily, particularly a painful six-figure blow for every weekend he sits at home.
Rodgers led the team for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, and a 94.8 passer rating. However, his season ended abruptly in a Wild-Card loss to the Houston Texans.
Now in his final NFL year, the stakes are very high for Rodgers, and his hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Tom Brady calls Aaron Rodgers the greatest passer in the NFL
Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are two of the biggest names in football history. Together, they have won championships, broken records, and thrilled millions of fans.
While Brady is often called the "Greatest of All Time", he recently shared some high praise for his long-time rival.
Speaking to the Stick To Football podcast, Brady said, as per reports from Chris Pownall of the NFL News,
“I think there’s no greater passer of the football than Aaron Rodgers,” Brady said. "There’s certain people, you see everyone do it, and then you see one person throw the ball that much better. Aaron Rodgers was incredible.”
Brady believes Rodgers has a special talent that sets him apart from every other quarterback who has ever played the game.
This huge compliment shows that even the most successful player in history respects true talent. While Brady has the most trophies, he believes Rodgers is the absolute best at throwing the ball.
